“Our team is aware how important it is to keep our new hires engaged from the day they say YES to ADM. Upon acceptance we send a congratulations gift with ADM gear to their home as well as social media tools for announcing their acceptance. Each month we sent an informative newsletter revealing facts about ADM and how to best prepare for their start date. We hosted quarterly Getting to Know ADM webinars hosted by leaders in the organization allowing ongoing education about our business. Lastly we hosted two conference calls walking them through detailed onboarding and orientation steps.”

“From our new hires' first days, we are building community. For our large intern hiring class, we host a 4-day onsite orientation session with intentional activities, peer networking and volunteer opportunities. Shortly after their start dates, our Young Professionals, Employee Resource Group, invites our early career hires into the national network inviting them to virtual and local events and meetings. We also build a Teams channel for our new hires allowing them a platform to share pictures, stories and experiences with each other as they are located in 30 ADM sites across North America.”

This organization had one of the lowest renege rates among their peers who applied.
In their application, they cited regular communication with new hires between acceptance and start date, offering bonuses or incentives tied to the start date, and providing relocation or logistical support early as the top 3 reasons for their low rate.

“Our early career hires start their careers in 29 ADM locations and to best prepare our managers and buddies, we provide hiring status newsletters, a guidebook and informative training sessions to best prepare them for their new hires. The onsite buddies are typically someone closer in age who can assist with logistics questions, social events and office inclusion.”

This organization had one of the top internship to full-time conversion rates among their peers.
“Our internship program is a 12-week structured experience allowing students to better understand our business, our culture, our expectations all while building early project management skills. During the summer we offer virtual Lunches with Leaders where each week a Leader dials into a virtual call and hosts a personal and casual fireside chat with the interns. They highlight their careers, their current roles and what makes ADM a special place. Our CEO is an annual guest of the program!”
